| Beschrijving keerzijde | A helmeted, draped and cuirassed Roman soldier advances to the left, thrusting a spear downward with his right hand to impale a fallen enemy horseman. The soldier carries a large round shield on his left arm, with a second shield depicted on the ground to the right. The defeated horseman, shown in a supplicating posture, reaches upward with his left arm toward the soldier. The exergue contains the mint and officina marks, each letter separated by a pellet, identifying the Rome mint. The reverse legend FEL TEMP REPARATIO, divided across the field, references the celebrated mid-fourth century propaganda theme of the restoration of prosperous times. |
