Reverse description Emperor Constans stands facing left aboard a military galley, holding in his right hand a phoenix perched upon a globe — symbolising the renewal of the Roman world — and in his left hand a labarum (Chi-Rho standard). In the stern of the vessel, a winged Victory is seated, steering the ship with a rudder, alluding to divine guidance of the Roman state. The exergue contains the officina mark of the Antioch mint. The divided Latin legend FEL TEMP - REPARATIO encircles the design, proclaiming the 'restoration of happy times.'
