正面描述 Laureate head of Constantius I facing right, rendered in the Tetrarchic style with a broad, naturalistic portrait and pronounced facial features. The laureate wreath is clearly defined around the brow, with drapery visible at the base of the neck. The effigy is set within a beaded border, with the imperial legend distributed around the periphery of the field. The coin shows heavy patination consistent with its bronze composition and extended burial history.

背面描述 The Genius of the Roman People stands facing left, a modius (grain measure) upon his head, his body nude save for a chlamys draped over the left shoulder. In his extended right hand he holds a patera for libation, while his left arm cradles a cornucopia overflowing with abundance. The reverse legend is divided across the field, and the mint mark of the Siscia workshop appears in the exergue.

附加信息

Constantius I died at Eboracum — modern York — in July 306, making coins from the final stretch of his reign among the last struck under his authority before his troops immediately acclaimed his son Constantine. The Siscia mint was one of several brought to full output during Diocletian's tetrarchic reorganization, and issues attributable to Constantius from this facility reflect the administrative machinery of that system rather than any particular loyalty to him personally.

RIC VI 169a places this squarely in the post-abdication window, after Diocletian and Maximian stepped down in May 305 and Constantius was elevated to Augustus of the West.
