| Obverse description | Laureate and cuirassed bust of Constantius I facing right, depicted with a short beard, the paludamentum (military cloak) fastened at the right shoulder. The effigy is rendered in the robust, somewhat schematic Tetrarchic style characteristic of the Diocletianic reform coinage. The circular Latin legend FL VAL CONSTANTIVS NOB CAES runs clockwise around the periphery, identifying the ruler as Flavius Valerius Constantius in his rank of Noble Caesar. |
