Reverse description A Roman soldier, in military attire and helmet, stands facing left in the field, holding a spear or standard in his right hand and bearing a shield on his left arm; he spears a fallen enemy horseman who lies beneath him, the horse collapsing to the lower right. This scene illustrates the FEL TEMP REPARATIO ('Restoration of Happy Times') type depicting the 'fallen horseman' motif, one of the most common reverse types of the mid-4th century. The Latin legend FEL TEMP RE-PARATIO is distributed around the field, with the officina letter Γ appearing in the right field. A exergual line divides the design from the mint mark below, where the SMK mintmark of Cyzicus appears.
