| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bareheaded bust of Constantius Gallus as Caesar facing right, draped and cuirassed, with neatly rendered short hair falling in layered strands. The portrait conveys a youthful yet authoritative effigy consistent with his rank as Caesar. The circumferential Latin legend reads D N FL CL CONSTANTIVS NOB CAES, distributed around the periphery of the flan. A beaded border frames the design. The modelling of the cuirass and paludamentum is rendered in typical mid-fourth-century Roman provincial style. |
