| Beschrijving keerzijde | Jupiter stands facing left in a heroic nude pose, his chlamys draped over one shoulder, holding a Victory on a globe in his right hand and a long sceptre in his left. A small captive figure or eagle may appear at his feet. The encircling legend IOVI CONSERVATORI is separated from the central type by a beaded border, with the mint mark of Thessalonica (TS followed by the officina letter) visible in the exergue. The composition reflects the standard Constantinian iconographic program invoking Jupiter as divine protector of the emperor. |
