The radiate crown projects boldly above the head, while the paludamentum and scale-pattern cuirass are rendered with fine engraving. The obverse legend arcs around the bust, identifying the subject as Constantine Junior, Noble Caesar. The portrait conveys youthful authority appropriate to a Caesar of the Constantinian dynasty. |

Flanking the base of the standard, two captive barbarians are seated on the ground in attitudes of submission, each turned slightly inward toward the standard. The reverse legend VIRTVS - EXERCIT is divided across the field to either side of the standard. The mint mark PLON appears in the exergue, denoting the London mint, with the officina letter preceding it. |
