The gate is rendered with a varying number of horizontal stone courses between the towers, a characteristic feature distinguishing individual officina dies within this issue. The design evokes themes of military preparedness and imperial foresight, consistent with the PROVIDENTIAE CAESS coinage programme of Constantine I for his Caesars. |
