The gate is shown in frontal elevation, its masonry carefully delineated in the die. The reverse legend PROVIDENTIAE CAESS arcs across the field above the gate, proclaiming the providence of the two Caesars. In the exergue, the mint mark and officina letter appear between two dots, identifying the issuing workshop at Heraclea. |
