| Reverse description | Two helmeted soldiers stand facing one another in a symmetrical composition, each holding an inverted spear in the outer hand while leaning on a shield with the inner hand. Flanked between the two figures are two legionary standards, the central motif of the GLORIA EXERCITVS type. The reverse legend GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS, meaning 'Glory of the Army,' is divided across the field to either side of the standards. Mint and officina marks appear in the exergue, identifying the Nicomedia mint. |
