Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constantine II as Caesar facing right, rendered in the late Roman imperial style characteristic of the Constantinian period. The effigy displays a youthful portrait with a laureate wreath encircling the head. The encircling Latin legend identifies the prince by his title of Nobilissimus Caesar, reading from left to right around the periphery of the flan. The portrait workmanship reflects the standardized die-cutting conventions of the Heraclean mint workshops of the early 330s.
