Two stars appear in the upper field, one on each side, evoking divine protection over the founders of Rome. The mint mark SMALB is placed in the exergue, denoting the Alexandria mint, second officina. The reverse type revives the founding myth of Rome as part of Constantine I's commemorative coin series. |
