Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Constantine I facing right, depicted in a bold, somewhat stylized manner characteristic of the Constantinian period. The emperor's head bears a laurel wreath, with the neck and shoulders clad in imperial armour. The encircling obverse legend reads IMP CONSTANTINVS PF AVG, arranged clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The portrait conveys imperial authority with a firm, forward-gazing profile typical of early fourth-century Roman die-cutting at the Siscia mint.
