A six-pointed star appears to the left of the figure in the field. The exergue bears the mint mark PLN, denoting the Prima officina of the Londinium mint. The surrounding legend SOLI INVICTO COMITI dedicates the type to Sol as the divine companion of the emperor, a theological concept central to Constantinian solar ideology in the early tetrarchic and post-tetrarchic period. |
