Reverse description A camp gate with two turrets, depicted without doors, surmounted by a star in the upper field — a Constantinian symbol of divine favour and imperial eternity. The gate facade presents multiple horizontal stone courses between the turrets, the exact number varying by officina. The mintmark and officina letter appear in the exergue. The encircling legend PROVIDEN-TIAE AVGG, split across the field, proclaims the providential care of the emperors, alluding to Constantine's role as protector of the Roman state.
