| Obverse description | Right-facing laureate and cuirassed bust of Constantine I, rendered with fine detail, the laureate wreath clearly articulated with individual leaves binding the hair. The emperor's neck and shoulders are covered by a cuirass with visible pteryges at the shoulder, conveying imperial military authority. The portrait is executed in the vigorous, naturalistic style characteristic of the London mint during the early Constantinian period. The encircling Latin legend reads CONSTANTINVS P F AVG, separated by a beaded border running the full circumference of the flan. |
