| Beschrijving keerzijde | The deified Constantine I, veiled and draped, is depicted ascending to heaven in a quadriga charging to the right, with the four horses rendered in dynamic forward motion. Above the scene, the Hand of God (manus Dei) reaches down from the heavens to receive the emperor, a powerful symbol of divine apotheosis unique to this commemorative coinage. The composition alludes to the traditional Roman consecratio imagery and reflects early Christian influence on imperial iconography. The mintmark and officina letter appear in the exergue, identifying the Nicomedia mint. |
