Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constantine I facing right, depicted from a rear three-quarter perspective, conveying a sense of martial authority. The emperor's drapery falls naturally over the cuirass, and the laurel wreath crowns the head in the traditional Roman imperial manner. The encircling legend is rendered in crisp Latin capitals. The portrait reflects the robust, idealized style characteristic of Constantinian workshop production at the Lugdunum mint circa AD 315.
