The emperor's effigy is depicted with characteristic strong jaw and regal bearing, the diadem jewels clearly articulated above the brow. The obverse legend encircles the bust within the coin's border. The portrait exhibits the standard bust type E8 as classified in RIC VII, with paludamentum visible over the cuirass. |

Between the two figures stands a single military standard, its shaft rising prominently to the upper field. The reverse legend GLORIA EXERCITVS is divided across both sides of the design. The exergue bears the mintmark and officina letter identifying the Cyzicus mint. |
