| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two helmeted soldiers standing facing one another, each clad in military attire and resting their inner hand on a grounded spear or sceptre, with a shield at their outer side. Between them stand two vexilla (military standards) topped with eagle finials, a composition emblematic of the GLORIA EXERCITVS type celebrating the glory of the Roman army. The divided legend GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS flanks the central design to left and right. In the exergue, the mint mark CONSE followed by a dot identifies this piece as struck at the Constantinople mint, likely by the fifth officina, though multiple officinae (CONSA, CONSB, CONSΔ, CONSH) are attested for this issue. |
