| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two helmeted, draped, and cuirassed soldiers stand facing one another in a symmetrical composition, each holding a reversed spear in the outer hand while resting the inner hand upon a grounded shield. Between the two figures stands a single military standard, the central focus of the design. The reverse type belongs to the widely issued GLORIA EXERCITVS series, celebrating the glory and loyalty of the Roman army. The Latin legend GLOR-IA EXERC-ITVS is distributed across the field, divided on either side of the central standard. The officina letter and mintmark appear in the exergue, identifying production at the Aquileia mint. |
