The figure conveys triumphant maritime imagery alluding to Constantine's victories and the foundation of Constantinople. The composition is characteristic of the CONSTANTINOPOLIS commemorative series issued across multiple mints from 330 AD. The mintmark appears in the exergue, identifying the officina of production at Treveri.
