| Obverse description | Helmeted and mantled personification bust of Constantinopolis facing left, rendered in the tradition of a city goddess (tyche), bearing a sceptre resting upon the right shoulder. The legend CONSTAN-TINOPOLI arcs around the field, identifying the commemorated city rather than a reigning emperor. The portrait displays a crested helmet, with drapery gathered at the shoulder in a formal, stylised manner characteristic of Constantinian workshop production. |

Victory personified stands facing on the prow of a galley (rostrum), her gaze directed to the left; her right foot is placed upon the prow in a pose of triumph. She holds an elongated sceptre in her right hand while her left arm rests upon a large round shield set at her side. The design alludes to naval dominance and imperial victory, consistent with the commemorative CONSTANTINOPOLIS series struck across multiple Constantinian mints from AD 330 onward. The exergue bears the mint mark of the Nicomedia officina. |
