| Beschrijving voorzijde | Helmeted and laureate bust of Constantinopolis facing left, draped in the imperial mantle, with a scepter resting on the left shoulder. The effigy depicts a personification of the imperial capital in a stylized military guise, rendered in the late Roman portrait convention characteristic of Constantinian coinage. The obverse legend CONSTANTINOPOLI encircles the bust, identifying the personification of the city. The workmanship reflects the prolific output of the Constantinopolis mint during the commemorative series of 333–335. |
