| Description du revers | The Genius of the Roman People stands facing left in the centre of the field, depicted as a youthful, semi-nude male figure wearing a modius (grain measure) on his head and a chlamys draped over his left shoulder. He extends his right hand to pour a libation from a patera over a lighted altar placed at lower left, while his left hand holds a cornucopia symbolising abundance. The reverse legend GENIO POPVLI ROMANI encircles the design, and the mint mark PLC appears in the exergue, denoting the Prima officina of the Lugdunum mint. A small star-like mark is visible in the right field as a control symbol. |

Lugdunum (modern Lyon) was one of the most active western mints during the Tetrarchic reorganization of imperial coinage, and pieces from this period reflect the administrative turbulence following Diocletian's abdication in 305. Constantine was not yet emperor during this window — he held the rank of Caesar under his father Constantius I — making the attribution of GENIO POPVLI ROMANI issues to "Constantine I" a retrospective convenience of modern cataloguing rather than a contemporary political statement.
RIC VI 190b is distinguished from the closely related 190a by its reverse officina mark.
