| 正面描述 | Laureate, cuirassed bust of Constans I facing right, rendered in late Roman style with finely striated hair beneath a laurel wreath. The effigy is set within a beaded border, with the circumferential Latin legend reading FL IVL CONSTANS NOB C, identifying the emperor as Flavius Julius Constans in his rank of Noble Caesar. The portrait displays the characteristic military paludamentum at the shoulder, consistent with the official imperial coinage of the Constantinian dynasty. A small officina letter is visible in the right field. |

The GLORIA EXERCITVS type with two standards was introduced around 330 AD as part of a systematic coinage reform under Constantine I, intended to project military unity across a fragmented empire increasingly dependent on regional field armies. When Constans received his share of the empire after his father's death in 337, Alexandria's mint — one of the most productive eastern facilities — continued the type under his name before transitioning to the single-standard variant, which itself signals the political turbulence following the succession crisis of that year.
RIC VII 61 places this squarely in the Alexandrian sequence. The SMALA and related control marks on pieces from this mint are among the better-documented in the series.
