Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Constans I facing right, wearing a pearl diadem with a double row of beads and elaborate flowing hair. The emperor is clad in imperial armour with a decorated paludamentum fastened at the right shoulder, and holds a globus in his left hand visible at the lower field. The effigy is rendered in the late Roman imperial portrait style typical of the Constantinian dynasty, with finely engraved facial features. The legend DN CONSTANS PF AVG encircles the bust, reading from lower left to upper right.
