The FEL TEMP REPARATIO ("happy times are here again") coinage of 348 AD was launched to commemorate the 1,100th anniversary of Rome's founding, a massive empire-wide issue produced simultaneously across nearly every active mint. Arelate — modern Arles — was one of the western mints carrying the bulk of that output, and the sheer volume struck there means officina letters and mintmark variants for this type are well-documented. The series was cut short in the west when Constans was overthrown and killed by the usurper Magnentius in January 350, making the later issues within this date range meaningfully scarcer than the opening strikes.
