The radiate lines of the laureate wreath are clearly defined, with detailed hair treatment visible along the nape of the neck. The paludamentum is fastened at the right shoulder, and the cuirass is indicated by incised pteryges at the shoulder. The obverse legend encircles the bust in Latin capitals, identifying the emperor by his titles. The portrait exhibits the youthful, idealized features characteristic of Constans during his tenure as Caesar. |
