The FEL TEMP REPARATIO ("happy times are here again") series was launched under Constantius II and Constans in 348 AD to mark the 1100th anniversary of Rome's founding — an enormous propaganda campaign executed simultaneously across nearly every mint in the empire. Nicomedia, as one of the eastern imperial capitals and a major administrative center since Diocletian, was among the heaviest contributors to the issue.
