Obverse description Right-facing draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Arcadius, adorned with a pearl diadem, rendered in the late Roman imperial portrait style. The effigy is shown from the shoulder upward, with the drapery and cuirass rendered in fine detail typical of the Theodosian period. The circumferential Latin legend reads D N ARCADIVS P F AVG, encircling the imperial portrait. The flan is slightly irregular in shape, as is characteristic of late fourth-century bronze nummi struck at provincial mints.
