Obverse description Right-facing bust of Emperor Arcadius, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed, rendered in the late Roman imperial style typical of the Theodosian period. The portrait displays the characteristic stylized treatment of the era, with the pearl diadem clearly visible across the brow and the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The surrounding Latin legend is disposed clockwise around the periphery of the flan, partially visible due to the irregular striking. The bust is centered within a beaded border, with the cuirass and drapery indicated by incised lines across the lower truncation.
