Obverse description Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Arcadius facing right, rendered in the late Roman imperial style characteristic of the Theodosian period. The paludamentum is visible at the shoulder, and the pearl diadem is a distinctive mark of the late imperial effigy. The surrounding Latin legend reads DN ARCADIVS P F AVG, identifying the emperor with his title of Dominus Noster and the epithets Pius Felix Augustus. The flan is irregular and the surface shows typical late antique patination with areas of olive-green and brown encrustation.
