| Beschrijving voorzijde | Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Anastasius I facing right, rendered in the late Roman imperial tradition with a pearl diadem visible above the brow. The effigy is executed in low relief on a small flan, characteristic of the nummus denomination, with the portrait occupying the majority of the obverse field. Fragmentary Latin legend partially visible around the periphery, reading D N ANAS, an abbreviated titulature for Dominus Noster Anastasivs. The style reflects the transitional late antique aesthetic of the early Byzantine period, with schematic but recognizable facial features and drapery folds indicated on the shoulder. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field occupied by the imperial monogram of Anastasius I, composed of interlaced Greek letters forming the emperor's name, enclosed within a linear circle or wreath border. The monogram is boldly struck and dominates the reverse field, with the individual letterforms clearly discernible despite the small module of the coin. This reverse type is characteristic of the nummus issues struck at Constantinople during the early reign of Anastasius I, prior to his monetary reform of 498. The plain field surrounding the monogram bears no additional legend or mint mark, consistent with the anonymous character of this denomination. |
