| Obverse description | Nude youth on horseback galloping to the right, his outstretched right arm holding a wreath aloft; the horse is depicted in full stride with finely rendered musculature. A monogram appears in the upper left field. The magistrate's name ΔΑΙΜΑΧΟΣ is inscribed in Greek letters along the lower exergual line. The composition reflects the vigorous, late Hellenistic engraving style characteristic of Tarentine nomoi. |
