背面描述	A finely detailed barley ear depicted centrally, with a small lizard or serpent to the upper left along the stalk, rendered with naturalistic precision characteristic of Metapontine coinage. The barley ear, a symbol of the city's agricultural prosperity and principal emblem of Metapontion, occupies the full height of the die. The ethnic legend ΜΕΤΑ appears to the right of the ear in Greek characters, with the magistrate name ΑΡΧΙΠ (Archippos) running vertically to the left. The incuse square of earlier Metapontine tradition has been abandoned in favor of this fully relief reverse type.
