背面描述	A full, finely detailed ear of barley rendered upright and facing the viewer, its grain-heads prominently modelled in high relief with characteristic incised detailing along each spiked floret. A single barley leaf curves elegantly to the right of the stalk. The ethnic legend META appears in Greek characters arranged vertically along the left field, identifying the issuing city of Metapontion. The composition reflects the iconic agricultural emblem for which Metapontine coinage is celebrated throughout the ancient world.
