His right arm is raised and extended forward, while his left arm reaches backward, conveying vigorous movement across the field. The figure is rendered in high relief with bold, somewhat schematic musculature consistent with the earliest Tarentine nomos series. The retrograde ethnic legend ΤΑRΑϞ appears partially in the field to the left. The flan is broad and irregular, typical of the hammered fabric of this early period. |
