Obverse description Laureate head of Zeus facing left, rendered in high relief with exceptional artistry characteristic of South Italian coinage of the early fourth century BC. The deity is portrayed with a full, flowing beard and elaborately rendered wavy hair bound by a laurel wreath, its leaves and berries depicted with fine detail. The powerful, mature facial features — prominent brow, deep-set eye, and aquiline nose — convey divine majesty. The ethnic legend ΛOKPΩN is inscribed along the left field.
