| Beschrijving voorzijde | Draped bust of Persephone facing right, her flowing hair elaborately arranged and bound with a wreath of grain ears, emblematic of her chthonic and agricultural associations. The finely modelled facial features display the elegant Italiote Greek style characteristic of late Metapontine coinage. The magistrate's monogram ΔΙ appears in the left field. The high-relief portrait fills the flan with commanding presence, set against a lightly recessed field with irregular flan edges typical of the hammered technique. |
