Nomos

Lokroi Epizephyrioi, the Epizephyrian Locrians of Bruttium, was a Dorian colony founded on the toe of Italy around 700 BC and notable in antiquity for the law code of Zaleukos — often cited as the earliest written Greek legal code. The city maintained close ties with Syracuse and sided with Dionysios I during his wars against Carthage, a political alignment that brought both protection and periodic instability throughout the first half of the fourth century, precisely the window in which this nomos was produced.

The HN Italy 2327 type is a relatively scarce emission; the city never struck on the prolific scale of Tarentum or Kroton.
