正面描述	Female head facing left, identified as possibly Demeter, her hair arranged in a characteristic thick braid coiled twice around her head in an archaic Greek fashion. The portrait is rendered in fine relief typical of the accomplished die-engravers of Magna Graecia. The magistrate's control mark ΣΤ appears in the field behind the neck. The treatment of the hair and facial features reflects the developed Classical style prevalent at Metapontion in the early fourth century BC.

背面描述	A meticulously detailed barley ear (the civic emblem of Metapontion) depicted in high relief, the grain head rendered with individual kernels shown with fine engraving, and a single curved leaf extending to the lower left. The ethnic legend ΜΕΤΑ is inscribed vertically along the right side of the stalk. The barley ear, a reference to the agricultural fertility of the Metapontine plain, served as the enduring and distinctive type of this city's coinage throughout its history.
