背面描述 The reverse presents a hammered field with bold Arabic calligraphic inscription denoting the mint name Bairata, struck in a similarly crude and vigorous style to the obverse. The legend fills the available flan space with angular, deeply incused strokes, though portions are weakly struck or lost to the irregular flan edge. Small pellet-like ornaments or punctuation marks are visible within the field, typical of Mughal copper coinage of the Jahangir period. The surface shows natural patination consistent with excavated or long-circulated copper.

附加信息

The nisfi — half a dam — occupied an awkward position in the Mughal copper hierarchy, too small for significant transactions yet essential for the kind of daily market exchange that silver and gold could never reach. Jahangir's accession in 1605 brought genuine administrative interest in rationalizing the copper coinage, though provincial mints like Bairata operated with considerable autonomy, producing pieces that varied noticeably from centrally issued standards. Bairata, located in Rajputana, owed its mint activity partly to the region's strategic importance during Akbar's campaigns and the continued need to service local garrisons and markets after consolidation.
