ZIN — Zavod za izradu novčanica i kovanog novca — has produced Serbian currency since the interwar period, but test notes occupy a peculiar category: printed to evaluate paper stock, security feature registration, or press calibration, they are never intended for public release and rarely survive outside the printer's own archive. The "Politika" designation on this 2008 example likely references the Belgrade daily newspaper of the same name, a common source of newsprint used as a substrate surrogate in test runs.
Collector examples surface occasionally, almost always through former ZIN employees or institutional deaccessions.
