Reverse description Incuse square divided into four quadrants by two bisecting lines forming a Greek cross pattern, with a raised pellet at the terminus of each arm. The quadripartite incuse punch is typical of early archaic electrum fractional coinage, struck with a simple punch to displace metal and verify composition. The field within each quadrant shows irregular surface texture resulting from the hammering process.
