Siemens Nixdorf produced this 100-unit test note in 1993 as a calibration and training instrument for its automated cash-handling and banknote-processing equipment — not as a circulating currency of any kind. The denomination and issuer name are deliberate fictions, designed to satisfy machine-readable format requirements without creating anything that could be mistaken for legal tender.
By the early 1990s, Siemens Nixdorf was among Europe's leading suppliers of ATM and cash-sorting systems, and proprietary test notes like this one were standard tools for factory testing and field engineer training. Genuine survivors are uncommon outside decommissioned service kits.
