Reverse description Saint George depicted in full figure, standing facing and clad in Roman military armor with a plumed helmet, trampling the vanquished dragon beneath his feet while holding a long lance or spear in his right hand. The saint is shown in a commanding stance characteristic of baroque ecclesiastical coinage of the Ferrara mint. The date 1717 appears in the exergue below the figure, and the circumferential Latin legend S·GEORGIVS·PROT·FERRAE encircles the design within a milled border.
