Obverse description The central field depicts the façade of the Église Saint-Jean-de-Malte in Aix-en-Provence in detailed relief, accompanied to the right by a standing figure of the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child. The inscription 'Voeu Martelly' appears in the upper field near the church towers, and the legend 'EGLISE ST-JEAN-DE-MALTE' arcs along the upper periphery with 'AIX-EN-PROVENCE' along the lower periphery, separated by a beaded border. A partial legend referencing 'Bénédiction des Calissons' is visible in the lower field.
