Obverse description Octagonal hammered gold flan bearing a two-line Devanagari legend in bold raised characters occupying the central field, reading 'Sri Sri Gaurinath' in homage to the Ahom king. The inscription is rendered in a robust, archaic Devanagari hand characteristic of late Ahom coinage, with no border ornament on this face. The flat, irregular flan displays the typical surface texture of hand-struck Assamese gold coinage of the late eighteenth century.
Obverse script Devanagari
Obverse lettering श्री श्री गौरीनाथ
